Contemporary Touring Initiative

Note: Changes to the CTI Program Guidelines

The Contemporary Touring Initiative can assist Collecting Institutions and other eligible Organisations with the costs of developing and touring major exhibitions of Contemporary Australian visual arts and craft across Australia.

The Contemporary Touring Initiative is part of the Australian Government's ongoing commitment to Contemporary Australian visual arts and craft. Continued funding for the Contemporary Touring Initiative of $2.06 million over four years was announced in the 2007–08 Budget.

The Contemporary Touring Initiative is administered by the Department under the Visions of Australia Program.

The Contemporary Touring Initiative is part of the Australian Government’s Visual Arts and Craft Strategy which was developed in response to the recommendations of the Report of the Contemporary Visual Arts and Craft Inquiry.

In May 2007 the Australian Government announced a continuation of the Visual Arts and Craft Strategy through the provision of an additional $24.7 million over four years.
