Smart in business: business skills for creative people replaces the old skills training program Creative Volunteering: No Limits

Smart in business is a national skills development project for arts workers working in regional Australia.

Smart in business is an initiative of Regional Arts Australia and from 2004 - 2008 has been funded by the Australian Government through the Regional Arts Fund

The course offers ten units - one core and nine electives.

Core Unit: Network within communities (1 day workshops)

Single elective units (1 day workshops)
Network within communities (CVNWC01A)
Carry out business planning (CVBSP02A)
Develop funds and resources (CVFAS03A)
Undertake marketing (CVMGP04A)
Work with collections (CVWWC05A)
Plan and program events (CVPPE06A)
Contribute to effective organisation governnance (CVGOV07A)
Cultivate productive relationships (CVTPF08A)

Double elective units (2 day workshops)
Train others (VCVRT09A, TAAENV405B, TAADEL301B)
Manage a project (CUSADM03A)

To complete the course, participants need to complete the core unit plus four others (which can be four 1-day worskhops, two 2-day workshops, or a mix)
