The PLR Committee
A committee representing Australian authors, publishers and libraries is appointed by the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and the Arts.
The PLR Committee has responsibility under the PLR Act for determining the eligibility of claimants, the amount of payment to a claimant, approving payments under the scheme, and providing recommendations and advice to the Minister about the operation of the scheme and the Act.
Current membership of the PLR Committee is as follows:
- Chairperson: Ms Evelyn Woodberry-University Librarian, University of New England
- Representatives of Australian authors: Mr Matthew Reilly- author of action-adventure books
- Representative of Australian libraries: Ms Tania Paull - Public Library Services, State Library of Queensland
- Representative of Australian publishers: Mr Clive Newman - Fremantle Arts Centre Press
- National Library of Australia representative: Ms Christine Foster
