Prime Ministers Literary Awards

The Prime Minister's Literary Awards were a new initiative introduced in 2008 celebrating the contribution of Australian literature to the nation's cultural and intellectual life.

In September 2008, the Prime Minister, the Honourable Kevin Rudd MP announced the two 2008 winners of the new the Prime Minister’s Literary Awards. Close to 200 works were entered in the fiction and non-fiction categories of the 2008 awards.
