Queensland - The Queensland Government legislation website is

- The Industrial Relations Act 1999 which states under S192(4) that the employer may not make a Queensland Workplace Agreement with an employee who is under 18 years, and the Act provides a framework for industrial relations that supports economic prosperity and social justice.
- The Workplace Health and Safety Act 1995 which aims to prevent a person's death, injury or illness being caused by a workplace, by workplace activities or by specified high risk plant.
- The Education (General Provisions) Act 1989 which states age of compulsory attendance at school to be no less than 6 nor more than 15 years,and includes a section on the employment of children of school age (S119).
- The Education (Overseas Students) Act 1996 which seeks to ensure that education and training for overseas students is provided in an orderly and appropriate way.
- The Child Protection Act 1999 the purpose of which is to provide protection for children.
