Community Heritage Grants
The Community Heritage Grants (CHG) scheme aims to preserve and provide access to locally held, nationally significant cultural heritage collections across Australia.
The program provides grant funding of up to $15 000 for preservation projects, and preservation and collection management training through community based workshops.
A broad range of Australian community organisations that collect and provide public access to their documentary heritage collections, including public libraries, archives, museums, art galleries and schools, are eligible to apply for community heritage grants.
The Community Heritage Grants program is jointly funded by the Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts, the National Library of Australia, the National Archives of Australia, the National Museum of Australia and the Australian Film Commission.
The grants are administered by the National Library of Australia.
