How do I apply?
Applications opened on 16 November 2009 and closed on 5 February 2010. Outcomes will be advised in mid 2010. The information below is an archived resource.
On the 12 October 2008 the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and the Arts approved the introduction of triennial funding for the Indigenous Broadcasting Program (IBP). Eligibility requirements for triennial funding are detailed in the IBP program information and guidelines.
Who can apply?
- organisations who are able to demonstrate they are representative of their local communities can apply;
- Indigenous owned and controlled organisations;
- Indigenous broadcasting organisations;
- peak bodies;
- registered media training providers; and
- radio content producers and aspirant broadcasting organisations.
Please note:
Broadcasters applying for funding must operate under a valid community radio licence. Indigenous narrowcasters may also apply for funding, but will need to demonstrate progress in obtaining a temporary community broadcasting licence or in securing an ongoing community broadcasting licence.
Applicants must have an Australian Business Number(ABN)(unless a Statement by a Supplier form has been provided). The Statement by a Supplier form is available from the Australian Taxation Office website.
All applicants, except Remote Indigenous Broadcasting Services (RIBS), must demonstrate that they are operating in a planned and strategic environment and that their activities will result in a benefit to the community.
