2010 Review of the Australian Independent Screen Production Sector
The Australian Government has published a discussion paper and terms of reference for for this review, which is examining the ongoing viability of the independent production sector and the extent to which government support measures are assisting the sector to achieve screen cultural objectives. The submission period closed on 29 April 2010. -
Bringing Aussie musicians centre stage
On 22 December Minister Garrett released a discussion paper on a proposed new scheme that, if implemented, will ensure that Australian musicians get to share the spotlight with international acts touring the country. The public are invited to comment on the proposal. Submissions closed 12 February 2010. -

The Government released a Discussion Paper of reforms to Australia's national security legislation that proposed changes to sedition laws to better protect freedom of expression. Review of the Protection of Movable Cultural Heritage Act 1986 and Regulations
The Protection of Movable Cultural Heritage Act 1986 (PMCH Act) and regulations are being reviewed. The review is to be completed by 31 May 2009, with input sought from key collecting and heritage organisations, members of the community and industry. Submissions closed 6 March 2009. -
