Review of the Protection of Movable Cultural Heritage Act 1986 and Regulations
On Thursday 15 January 2009 the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and the Arts announced the review of the Protection of Movable Cultural Heritage Act 1986 (PMCH Act) and the Protection of Movable Cultural Heritage Regulations 1987 (PMCH Regulations).
Submissions in relation to the 2009 Discussion Paper on the Review of the Protection of Movable Cultural Heritage Act 1986 and Regulations closed on Friday 6 March 2009.
Due to the large number of submissions received after 6 March 2009 and the complex nature of some of the issues raised, it is anticipated the PMCH Act Review Report will now be completed in early 2010.
The Minister for the Environment, Heritage and the Arts will then consider the outcomes of the review.
