The Creative Economy Taskforce assists with the implementation of the Government's Creative Economy JobMaker Package and provides strategic advice and support to the Government on the creative economy, particularly as Australia rebuilds from the effects of COVID-19.
ways to grow the economic and job creation contribution of the creative economy, including building the capacity of the cultural and creative sector and driving collaboration with other sectors
opportunities for and barriers to cultural and creative sector development, growth and sustainability
the Government's investment and support for the cultural and creative sector, including the Creative Economy JobMaker Package and other initiatives to support the sector recover from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic; and
measuring and articulating the cultural, social and economic value of Australia's creative economy.
Members of the Taskforce were announced on 22 August 2020. Rachel Healy is Chair of the Taskforce and John Barrington is Deputy Chair. The Taskforce members bring a breadth of experience across many aspects of the diverse cultural and creative sector:
