2018 Prime Minister’s Literary Awards call for entries
Celebrating another year of great Australian literature.
10 April 2018
Australian authors, illustrators, publishers and producers are invited to submit entries to this year’s Awards which close on 9 May 2018.
The Awards recognise outstanding Australian literature across six categories, including fiction, poetry, non-fiction, Australian history, young adult and children’s literature.
The high standard of each year’s entries reflects the strength and vitality of Australia’s literary talents, from powerful fiction and poetry, contemplative non-fiction, captivating offerings for young people, to accounts of important events and people that have shaped our nation.
To be considered, entries must have been published, produced or broadcast during 2017.
There are no entry fees and entries for the Australian history category can be submitted in a range of formats including books and print media, an interactive or online project, film or documentary.
Prize money is awarded in each category with up to $80,000 for winners and $5,000 for shortlisted books (tax free).
