The Government has provided more than 17,200 payments totalling $22.3 million to Australian book creators and publishers through the Lending Rights schemes this year.
The Public Lending Right and Educational Lending Right schemes compensate eligible Australian publishers and creators for loss of income through the free use of their books in public and educational lending libraries.
These schemes provide support for creators and publishers around the country to help ensure that Australian writing continues to develop and that Australian stories continue to be told.
