$5 million to keep Melbourne Theatre Company on stage
The Australian Government will deliver $5 million to the Melbourne Theatre Company under the Government’s $50 million COVID-19 Arts Sustainability Fund.
The Melbourne Theatre Company (MTC) has been allocated $5 million under the Australian Government's COVID-19 Arts Sustainability Fund to support its ongoing viability as one of Australia's leading arts employers.
MTC is home to some of Australia's best live storytelling, and this funding will support its ongoing sustainability and provide a pathway to recovery.
The Arts Sustainability Fund supports the arts and entertainment sector by providing necessary finance to plan for recovery from COVID-19 disruptions.
More than $19 million remains in the Sustainability Fund, which is still open and accepting applications until 31 May 2022, subject to allocation of funds.
