Arts Minister Senator George Brandis has announced the recipients of the five Regional Artist Development Fellowships which will support artists and arts workers in rural and regional Australia to undertake professional and creative development.
In Kalgoorlie last year, Senator George Brandis announced the Regional Artist Development Fellowships which provide total funding of $125,000 shared between the five artists to pursue valuable experiences outside their communities in other regions, metropolitan areas and internationally.
The Australian Government is committed to supporting the professional development of regional artists and these fellowships will assist in overcoming some of the additional barriers to accessing professional opportunities in their arts practice.
The recipients will use the fellowships to partner with and learn from established artists and cultural institutions in Australia and overseas and will inspire new creative directions in their chosen art form.
