Grants of between $50,000 and $2 million will start to roll out to 115 projects across the country, with more than $60 million allocated through the first round of RISE.
It is anticipated the projects will create around 44,000 jobs, with the benefits to flow on to the tourism, hospitality, transport and freight sectors.
The Australia Council and the Creative Economy Taskforce provided advice on the applications and successful initiatives had a strong focus on youth, wellbeing and mental health, tourism and innovation.
The $75 million RISE program was announced as part of the Government’s $250 million Creative Economy Support Package to help restart activities such as festivals, concerts, tours and events once it is safe to do so.
Applications are now open for the second round of funding, which will close at midnight (AEDST) on 16 December 2020.
