The $3 million Culture, Heritage and Arts Regional Tourism (CHART) program will help organisations – including community museums, galleries and historical societies – with activities that encourage tourists to visit regional areas.
Grants of up to $3,000 are available for activities that assist with showcasing community stories and the preservation of cultural heritage. The grants can be used to support a range of activities including conservation, development of collections or exhibits, improved facilities for volunteers and visitors, and the digitisation of collections.
Funding is also available to assist with COVID-19 recovery, such as cleaning measures and reopening costs.
The Australian Museums and Galleries Association (AMaGA) is delivering the program on behalf of the Government.
Applications are open until 29 April 2022 or until all funds are allocated. For more details visit the AMaGA website.
