Applications are open for grants under the Indigenous Contemporary Music Program, with $500,000 available to increase development opportunities for the Indigenous music sector.
3 March 2021

Applications are now open for grants under the Indigenous Contemporary Music Program, aimed at increasing development opportunities and support mechanisms for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander musicians and bands.

This funding round will provide $500,000 in grants, as part of the Government's commitment to strengthening the Indigenous contemporary music sector for current and future generations.

Organisations who support Indigenous musicians and bands can apply for funding to deliver industry-based activities including training, mentoring, partnerships, recordings and performances.

The Indigenous Contemporary Music Program is a $2 million program providing funding over four years and is one of five measures under the $30.9 million Australian Music Industry Package announced in the 2019–20 Budget.

The Government invests around $750 million in the arts and cultural sector through its regular funding programs each year.
