After 14 years in Armadale, Artbank has moved more than 2,000 artworks to its new location in Collingwood – a new contemporary space to match the Australian art it houses.
The building was once an old printing warehouse, which has now been transformed into a state-of-the-art collection store, project space and artist studio.
A unique Government initiative, Artbank was established to support artists and give people an affordable opportunity to enjoy Australian art. Organisations and individuals can choose from an extensive range of art and lease it for an extended amount of time.
Artbank has one of the largest and most significant collections of Australian art in the world and has been operating on a self-sustaining basis since the early 1990s.
