The Australian Government collects a range of statistics on arts and culture. These statistics provide an important insight into Australia's cultural life and the arts sector.
The Impact of our National Cultural Institutions is a collaborative project between us and the national cultural institutions. The project provides a holistic picture of the national reach and impact of the national cultural institutions.
Cultural Data Online provides free online access to Australian arts and culture research reports and statistics. It is produced by the Meeting of Cultural Ministers' Statistics Working Group, of which we are currently the Chair.
Culture @ a Glance is the Australian Bureau of Statistics' collection of data about arts and cultural life in Australia. The collections of cultural data include information about cultural participation and attendance, arts education, and the cultural industries.
The Australia Council for the Arts manages a number of key research and statistics projects, including:
- Art Facts—concise and up-to-date information and trend data for the sector.
- Arts Nation—a set of national indicators to increase understanding of the Australian arts industry.
Screen Australia maintains a comprehensive collection of statistics on the production and release of feature films, TV drama, documentary and other screen content in Australia.
