Applications are now open for grants through the Indigenous Contemporary Music program
The Indigenous Contemporary Music program increases development opportunities for First Nations musicians and bands throughout Australia.
By supporting talented performers, the program provides a foundation for ongoing professional careers in the Australian and international music industries.
Financial support is available for First Nations-led organisations who provide professional industry-based opportunities. Funding is available for activities being undertaken in 2023 and 2024.
Activities eligible for support include training, recording and performance opportunities, mentoring and partnerships.

The Government will provide over $100,000 to preserve a rare guitar used by Australian surf rock band The Atlantics, and a 19th century silver centrepiece gifted to one of Victoria’s founding fathers.

The Orange Regional Museum received $90,000 to assist with the purchase of an ornamental centrepiece, the Campbell epergne.
Rare Tasmanian tiger skin preserved
The Government has provided $125,000 to the National Museum of Australia to purchase a rare female Tasmanian tiger (thylacine) pelt.
$200,000 to preserve revolutionary race car
The Government has provided $200,000 to help the National Motor Museum purchase the Chamberlain 8 “Australian Special” race car through the National Cultural Heritage Account.
