Australians in regional and remote areas will see imaginative exhibitions visit their communities once funding is awarded later this year.
Round 20 of the Visions of Australia program will continue the success of earlier rounds, which have seen engaging exhibitions visit towns across the country, including in remote areas like East Carnarvon in Western Australia, Longreach in Queensland, Katherine East in Northern Territory and Port Lincoln in South Australia.
Australian arts and cultural heritage organisations are invited to apply for funding to develop and tour exhibitions. Up to $1.2 million is available for projects starting from 1 July 2025.
Previously, Visions has supported a wide range of arts and cultural exhibitions, including:
Funding is available under two streams: development and touring.
Visions seeks to enable all Australians to benefit from access to arts and cultural material, and to assist artists to gain national recognition. To be eligible for funding, tours must visit at least 3 venues outside the applicant's home state or territory and include regional and/or remote venues.
The program supports new job opportunities for artists and arts workers with significant flow-on benefits for local tourism and businesses in these communities.
Visions of Australia aligns with the National Cultural Policy, Revive, by enabling more Australians to experience arts and cultural exhibitions where they live.
Applications for Round 20 close at 5pm (AEDT) on Friday 14 February 2025.
