Expressions of Interest are now open to join the Implementation Advisory Group for Equity.
We're seeking Expressions of Interest from d/Deaf and disabled artists and arts workers from diverse backgrounds with experience in the arts, screen, digital games or cultural sectors to help implement activities under Equity: the Arts and Disability Associated Plan.
The advisory group will provide advice to the Australian Government on issues affecting d/Deaf and disabled artists, arts workers, screen practitioners, and people with disability taking part in arts and culture.
It will ensure d/Deaf and disabled artists, arts workers and screen practitioners are part of implementing, monitoring and evaluating key activities under the Plan. Membership is for an initial commitment of 1 year, which may be extended. Members will be paid for their time preparing and attending meetings.
Released in November 2024, the Plan is an action under Australia's National Cultural Policy, Revive and is an Associated Plan under Australia's Disability Strategy 2021–2031.
The Advisory Group continues the commitment that started with the Plan's Co-Design Working Group to ensure the voices of people with disability or who are d/Deaf or hard of hearing inform the development and rollout of the Plan. The Plan is being delivered by the Office for the Arts in partnership with Creative Australia and in close consultation with Screen Australia.
Applications for the advisory group close 4:00pm (AEST) on Monday 5 May 2025.
For more information on the application process, accessible translation in Easy Read, FAQs and contact details, visit the Expression of Interest page. Auslan translations will be added shortly.
