Revive Live is a grants program designed to support original live Australian music, first announced as part of the 2024-25 Federal Budget.
The program provides essential support to established live music venues and music festivals to assist them to continue to operate in the current operating climate, limiting venue closures and event cancellations, and stimulating long-term sustainability. The program also has a focus on activities that improve accessibility and provide participation opportunities for audiences, and career pathways for musicians and music workers, with disability.
The Revive Live program is focused on supporting established live music venues and music festivals, with a primary purpose to host original live music and a strong focus on showcasing Australian artists. Organisations must be majority-Australian owned, and can be located anywhere in Australian suburban, metropolitan, regional and remote regions.
The Revive Live open competitive grant opportunity opened for applications on 27 August 2025, and closed on 26 September 2025. All available funding under this grant opportunity for 2025-26 has been allocated. Information about grants awarded under the program can be found by clicking on the ‘Who we’ve funded’ tab below.
The Australian Government will provide a total of $11.6 million in grant funding over 2025-26 for the Revive Live program.
Revive Live was first announced as part of the Critical Support for the Live Music and Festivals measure in the 2024–25 Budget. The program has so far provided $18.4 million in grant funding to support 217 live music businesses, including 119 music festival-based activities and 98 live music venues.
The Australian Government committed to provide $25 million over two years from 2025-26 for the Revive Live program.
The Australian live music industry forms a vibrant part of Australia’s arts and culture landscape. Live music venues and music festivals are a critical part of the live music industry ecosystem, providing a fundamental pillar for success that is vital to the development of both artist and audience. They allow artists to grow audiences, build professionalism and profile, and earn an income.
Funding is available for activities that support established live music venues or music festivals, creating a sustainable operating environment to increase performance opportunities, and the development and discoverability of original contemporary music by Australian artists. The Program also has a strong focus on activities that improve accessibility at established live music venues or music festivals, providing participation opportunities for audiences, and career pathways for musicians and music workers, with disability.
