The 2026–27 round of the Australian Government International Exhibitions Insurance program (AGIEI) is now open to applications.
The AGIEI program provides funding to offset the cost of insurance for eligible international exhibitions touring to Australia.
This program ensures more Australians can enjoy significant cultural material that they may not otherwise have an opportunity to access.
The cultural material in the exhibitions must have a minimum value of $25 million for fine art exhibitions or $10 million for museological exhibitions. The proposal can be for either multiple or single venue exhibitions. Insurance cover may apply to multiple or single items within an exhibition that meets the minimum value threshold.
The program delivers approximately $2.8 million in support each year.
Applications must be submitted through the Smartygrants website by 17 April 2026. Out of round applications may be considered where funds allow.
For more information and to apply visit the Australian Government International Exhibitions Insurance Program page.
