Sixty-two deserving recipients will share in $2.5 million under round six of the Live Music Australia program.

The funding will go towards renovations, sound and lighting upgrades, and payments to artists so venues can increase their capacity to deliver more gigs to audiences and support more original live music.

With some projects being held over multiple locations, 90 venues in metropolitan, regional and remote Australia will benefit.

Among the recipients:

  • $48,365 will help to make Lucky Bay Brewing in Esperance, Western Australia, a known quality location for touring artists by supporting the installation of professional equipment and providing opportunities for locals to upskill in the live music sector.
  • $47,000 will support local and touring artists across music genres to perform 40 gigs at the Tom Atkin Hall, Gold Coast, QLD.
  • $30,000 will see emerging bands billed with established bands at Sydney venue The MoshPit, supporting rising talent to reach new audiences.
  • $22,500 will support the installation of sound equipment and staging at The Dart and Marlin in Warrnambool, Victoria to increase its capacity to host original live music.
