Funding available for new touring exhibitions

Arts and cultural organisations can now apply for Round 21 of the Visions of Australia Program.

The program aims to bring more opportunities for regional and remote Australian communities to enjoy arts and culture through developing and touring exhibitions. Funding of approximately $2.8 million is available each year across two funding rounds.

Over the last 10 years, Visions of Australia has supported over 135 exhibitions to tour quality Australian art and cultural material to approximately 1440 venues across the country.

Previous recipients which are currently touring  include:

• Art Gallery of South Australia (AGSA)—Too Deadly: Ten Years of Tarnanthi—To mark the tenth anniversary of the Tarnanthi Festival, this tour is a survey exhibition of contempoary works by First Nations which includes paintings, sculptures, installations and moving-images that have never before been seen outside Adelaide.
• Museums and Gallery Services Queensland—Afghanistan by Andrew Quilty—An exhibition of photographs by award-winning photojournalist and author Andrew Quilty, made during his time living in the Afghan capital of Kabul from 2013 to 2022.
• University of New South Wales (UNSW) Galleries—Matters of Time: Contemporary Metal Practices—A touring exhibition bringing together 11 Australian artists to explore relationships between metal and time. Featuring new commissions and recent work, the exhibition draws on lineages of smithing and contemporary approaches to metalworking in art and design.

Tours must include at least 3 venues outside the applicant's home state or territory and include regional and/or remote venues for projects starting after 1 January 2026.
