We're developing a new cultural policy for the decade ahead to transform and safeguard a diverse, vibrant and sustainable arts, entertainment and cultural sector now and into the future.

The new National Cultural Policy will establish a comprehensive roadmap to guide the skills and resources required for this dynamic sector. Our starting point is Creative Australia, the national cultural policy launched by former Prime Minister Hon Julia Gillard AC in 2013.

This new policy will be shaped by the diverse voices of the Australian arts, entertainment and cultural sector. Town hall events were held across the country for stakeholders and community members to convey their views. There was also a public submissions process which has now closed. If you have any questions about other ways to share your views, please email culturalpolicy [at] arts.gov.au.

Advisory bodies to inform the development of the policy

The Government has established five Review Panels and a Policy Advisory Group to inform the National Cultural Policy and provide advice to Minister for the Arts, the Hon Tony Burke MP, on key issues and themes.
